February is American Heart Month ❤️ – Let’s Prioritize Heart Health Together!
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the U.S., affecting millions of lives every year. American Heart Month, observed every February, is a vital time to raise awareness about cardiovascular health and promote heart-healthy habits.
While anyone can develop heart disease, some communities face higher risks due to limited healthcare access, economic barriers, and systemic health disparities. Black, Hispanic, Indigenous, and lower-income communities often experience higher rates of high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity, all of which contribute to cardiovascular disease. Addressing these disparities is key to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to lead a heart-healthy life.
Simple initiatives—such as encouraging stress management, promoting physical activity, and providing heart-healthy snacks—can go a long way in preventing cardiovascular disease.
